Peter Burnitt - Torana SLR5000 x 2

Post by bodgybro »

Been working on 2 commission builds

2 SLR5000 Torana's, originally to look like this

However, he has decided 1 to look like this, 1 in the new livery... which has yet to be done, so I have no idea what it will look like, let alone colour. Half tempted to do the design for him so I can get it done.

On the printer, first print had issues, Version 2 had a minor issue still so V3 is now sweet and re printable anytime.

Interior, done as 1 piece of the interior base, dash and chassis..

This was the busy print day

The striations at .03 are visible but easily sandable and as far as quality over other printers.... well, if you wanna see the difference, check out my Nike shoes comparison. pics speak louder than words. so imagine this on a budget printer.

Got to like the SLR's, aussie icon.

Of to a good start, bet your are thankful to be able to print roll cages instead of building from scratch.

Having the skills to 3D draw and print at house must make a project like this so much easier to take on. Great progress so far!!

Yes and no... sometimes I can't sleep because I can't get something right, so I lay in bed, head going trying to work out how to make something work.
You should see me work tho... my head is like a confused dog. I turn the model 1 way and then i move my head like i'm trying to see around a piece or another side lol

These were delivered... in pieces.
Broken in transit, look like they were out in a cement mixer or thrown and kicked around.
Rebuilds underway with hand delivery next time.
