Peterbilt tanker

Post by B61 MACK »

Will be working on this one slowly over the next few months.
Using a AMT Perterbilt 359 and the short part of the tank of the Lindberg Dodge L-700 tanker kit.
This is my idea.

Thank's Sandboarder, Have started on gluing the tank half's together and cleaning up the trucks engine, As this was a cheap Pete' kit someone started on gluing the engine together and putting some parts on it but then for some unknown reasons pulled them off  lucky they did not do much damage, If I need parts my mate Ken will have them. yes!

I love trucks with really specific utilities like tanks or tow-arms, so much cooler than the standard box-trailer kits. And I know you'll build it up cool Al!

I've always wanted to do a model of the Jeepers Creepers truck  Which I believe was a 41 Chev COE with a strange canopy/box on it.

Your mate Ken sounds like he has the hook-up! If he's got a Taxi/Fire Chief Chevy Caprice 06294 from Revell hes willing to sell/trade I'd LOVE to know about it :D

Ya every one builds a Prime mover or trailer I wanted some thing different.

Will ask him about the Taxi/Fire car and keep a eye out for one he is going to a club swap meet soon.

Jezz hate to say it but I looked at the kit about six years ago at a market day over at Maitland and passed on it, the seller has $15 on it and passed on it, bought two Pontiac GP's for $5 each why I don't know. as I don't want them. Tryed to give them away to Bruce and he said No. yes!

I never got the terminology for trucks down like Prime Mover, B-double etc.

IU call the flat-face ones 'flatface's and the ones with a snout 'snouty-ones'

Cheers al, I'd really appreciate that!!

Some infor for Slowlylearnig, Flat front ones are Cab Over Engine or COE for short, long snout ones are called Bonneted, This with be what is called cab chassis or Rigid and what we call prime mover the Yanks and the rest of the world call it a Tractor and trailer.
Oh one to two ton is called a Lorry over that is a Truck. yes!

Yes Luke its something I have wanted to do for sometime now and finish it too but its going to be a slow build.

Ya its a new ball game once you start looking at trucks and how different they are I am still learning too.
Trucks are big and look bigger sitting behind you on the road most drivers are good but you get the odd Cowboy that gives them all a bad name. yes!
Have known a few truck drivers and the story's they tell about car drives and what they do is unreal. Just watch U-tube it a eye opener. yes!
