Re: HO-scale

Years ago someone gave a pair of old Lima 44 Class Deisels they were wrapped up and I did not check them out until years later and found parts missing they cut off the front and rear skirts and couplers
So I had the motors checked out the other day and will be repairing one of them.
The chassis has a large screw in the middle that holds the body in place and it was missing from both  so I came up with a idea how to fix the problem by putting four tiny bolts with nuts glued in place so the body can be fix in place, easy said then done.
I went up to Casey's hobbies and found the right size bolts but no nuts they were out of stock and so was the supply place. After check out three more place no luck but today I was luck to find them.
Waiting to hear from another place about the skirts in white metal. crossed

Anyway here is the 44 I am working on.

Got the skirts of the 44 just need to clean them up and paint them also need to trim bit off the bottom so it clears the track, But the biggest problem I now have I have to find a screw to hold the body to the chassis as the one I had is missed place or lost not even sure I got it in the first place and been a old Lima model parts are not around any more.
May have to look for a dead loco that has the screw.

Looks good Al. I’m sure a fastener shop will be able to determine the size screw and supply one

Ya there is a place over at Rutherford that I am going to try will take the screw out of another 44 I have and see if they can match it, They had the tiny two mm nuts I needed for the skirts.
I had some bolts that came with the Kadee couplers but there was no nuts in the packet.

The 38 is a brand new locomotive put out by Australian Railway Models.
They bought out 1500 Locos and they all sold out a few shops many still have some but they selling very fast.
