Home made sanding sticks

Post by Luke »

Cut some coffee stirring sticks in half.

Cut some strips of wet and dry sandpaper a couple mm's wider than the sticks and to length so it will be enough to cover both sides. You can cover as much of the stick as you want, I went with enough to cover about half way.

Run a bead of CA/super glue along the stick.

Glue sticks onto the sandpaper.

Fold and glue down the other side.

Trim off excess.

Reason I make these is you can wet sand and they are good for small areas and parts.
Perfect for doing the window openings of the HK's im building.

Lots of different size wooden stirring sticks out there so you could make a variety sanding sticks if you wanted to.

great tut! i never even thought of doing that. i just wrap sandpaper around a different finger, coz they are different fatness to get in to different areas. this seems much easier and less cramping
