A little bit of paint and they're completely different wheels! Nice!

When Luke detailed his set it completely changed my opinion on these wheels. I spose that’s where the 1:1 images are a great reference

I just laid the 3rd layer of clear, now I’ll let it gas for a week. Then I’ll give it a light polish just like the Red Kenmary. crossed it’s done by the end of the month. It’s just BMF and assembly after that.

Noice! I was looking at those tamiya compounds but I've got no idea how to use em, like with a piece of cloth going in small circles then wash off the excess with water?

I just rubbed it on with a microfibre cloth. Wait 5 minutes for it to dry and then rubbed off with a clean microfiber. Just like doing a real car.

I’ll post the steps as I do it thumbsup

Finally gave the body some love today. Here’s a picture story on what I have done. Shot TS-58 from the can as my body colour

Image

Waited 48 hours (I think) and gave 3 wet coat of TS-13 clear, each coat 24 hours apart

So now we are up to today. One week after the final coat of clear. Now for a quick polish. This process took about an hour so I mean quick. Still scared of rubbing thru so I took about half of the orange peal off which combined with the wax makes a great effect.

With a coat of Tamiya course polish on and dry. Rub on with a micro fiber clothe and wipe off when dry. Which only take a minute or two.

Image

And the final result after using both Tamiya course and fine polishes. I can’t wait to detail the body and get the chassis under it.

I have two night shifts to work before I’ll do anymore bench time. I’m unlucky enough to work the 13 hour night shift, thanks to daylight savings.
