Thanks guys. I had to YouTube the technical paint, it globs on fairly thick and wet. Once it’s dry it looks completely different and has great texture.

No more teasing I have finish the figure. It’s been really fun and I’ll buy some more paint before I do the other 2 figs. Let me know if you want to see this type of thing step by step otherwise I’ll just post them once their complete.

And let’s give it some scale, here it is next to a 30 minute missions build.

Well done.
Impressive effort for the first time you have attempted a mini, knowing how you approach things, no doubt the next one will be a step up from this one.

Thanks guys!!

Of course I’m keen to do another one and continue to challenge myself. I’m going to get some more Citadel paints first but in the mean time, I discovered the Death Guard. These guys look cool and will be a lot harder then the blue dudes. Like Usual what I wanted has been discontinued and is sold out everywhere. Spent a while scrolling through every Australian online Warhammer store until I managed to find one with 1 in stock. So I have the Death Guard paint set to do after the other 2 Space Marines.

You can tell by the box art it’s an older set.

And this one has a flap on the box, lift it up and there’s a step by step paint guide for the paints included in the set!!!

I used 6 Citadel paint on the blue dude. Thin them slightly with some water and they dry perfectly smooth. In some area’s I have used 2 base coats, the shade, touched up the base coat, then highlighted and all those layer are smooth and look like 1 coat.

They make different styles of paint layer, dry, shade and technical. All that I’ve used work great, best acrylic’s I used.

I am looking at using it on the white metal female figures that I found after miss placing them, Will remove old paint off them and repaint as the paint on them has came off in places.
