Another kitbash 32 Ford

Post by sandboarder »

I know I shouldn’t start anything else seeing as I have a Mini, VIP Toyota and the yellow C210 Skyline builds, but after catching up with Luke I can’t help myself. I had a few 32 Ford laying around. Also wanted to do a big tyre drag car. So I’m attempting to make that happen. I happy if I only get this in primer as my plan will look mean.

Kit one; really want the fenders, I’m not sure on the body style yet thinking

Kit 2;

Which I stole the tyres from and made them fit

I think I could get wider tyre under it but they fit for now. Next is looking at the front end. Rear ride height is governed by tyre diameter. However I need to figure out how I’m going to get the front stance right.

dunno

I would of built it with out the fenders. Revell did a kit the you can build it with or with out fenders on it.

I had to go all out Luke. Both kits are already past the point of no return lol :lol:

Big tyres with no fender would look like one of these two Al. Just not what I’m after.

Yep something like that Al, I don’t know weather it’ll be a convertible, 3 window or 5 window yet. Need to sort out a front end and stance for a proper mock up soon.

I don’t some more testing and cutting. Mocked both suspensions and will go with the stock setup. Drag chassis would be way to low.

Although tubes do look cool

Time for the dremel and removed heaps of material :o I marked most in black but forgot some too

Image

Two marks on the chassis rail so I know where to line up the new motor/block

And some more chassis testing. Looks pretty close for now. Really need to build the motor for mock ups next. Got to decide on a colour for the block.

Almost touches the 32s chassis rails. Will have to trim the drag chassis section to get that to tuck up but now I have made room for it.
