So it seems like this new hobby is really doing something for me apart from sending me broke, A damn expensive hobby. The old creative juices were flowing the other day, Mum went out opshopping with the grand kids and she bought me home a little something she thought I could get working but as soon as I saw it I had an idea so I packed up what I was doing and headed for the Devil's den and got to work. What started life as a Kmart style kids toy became something kinda special, it went from being a sorta silly looking monster truck to

I cut out all the body screw posts, drilled some holes for the new body posts and antenna, did some grinding on the fronf wheel arches to help the wheels turn then I added a little red and silver paint to the badges and bam a hard bodied Dodge Challenger street racer.

Here is my new baby, 1/10 Traxxas Slash 2wd Short course racing truck. Trust me it won't be looking like this for long I have another body planned and some other wheels. This thing is able to reach about 40kph.

It's a handful at half the speed. I had only been using it for 5 minutes and I had flipped over twice. It did something called a traction roll, because it is setup like the SST trucks that were at the Clipsal 500 it has a lot of body roll and soft tires with have a large sidewall it grips up and goes flipping if you try to turn at too high a speed. I can fix that with a simple chassis change, Traxxas have a LCG (low centre gravity) chassis kit which sits about 2cm lower than the current chassis.

Hey guys, the Devil is still alive and kicking. I went through a rough patch that has cost me several friends and a few family members have decided I'm not worth the effort or their time. I haven't touched any of my model kits but thats not to say I haven't been busy in the devils den. I have bought myself a couple of new toys and retired another.

The retired one is the chassis under the challenger hardbody, I have been unable to track down any spare parts for it so I thought it was best I put it away.

Now for the new toys.
First is an Axial SCX10 trail truck It started off looking like this. Its a Toyota Tundra.

It now a Ford F-250 Super Duty

I bought myself a drift car for my birthday, it started off as a Nissan Skyline.

Not being a fan of import cars I had to change the body ASAP so I did. Its a BA Falcon Pursuit ute.

I have learned how to solder so I added some Led lights just to show I could do it.
