Drift car summer build
Jumping at Luke’s suggestion would anyone be interested in building a drift car when the sun comes back out? Say start in September and complete by June 2018 when it get too cold to paint again?
Suggestions for what is a drift car? I have know idea for rules to this type of build as I think i’ve seen everything drift.

hi5
You set the guidelines as you have been around the 1:1's.
Has to be purpose built track car, thats my only suggestion at the moment.

In the current series of Formula D (America series) there’s 3 Mustangs, 2 Corvettes, a Viper and a Toyota Corolla. So my suggestions would be a roll cage (which is hard to scratch build) and racing livery. So maybe for out CB say the paint has to be two colours, weather that’s livery or miss matched panel of a grass roots cars. Another think would be after market wheels. Will post pics when I’m on a PC but I think it’s hard to set rules for this.

That Corolla is COOL! Never seen one that's been visited by the Drift Fairy
I'm up for it most likely... But if I can't I'll be watching jealously from the sidelines!

Re: Drift car summer build
This is his 2nd Corolla as well Slowly. Rockstar teams seem to love converting front wheel drive cars to rear wheel competition car, kinda seem like cheating.
Al a drift car is generally from the Japanese origins of a race car that goes sideways. There is a series for most of the European countries. New Zealand has a series and ADGP for Australia. My favourite tho is the American series Formula D which is in its 11th year. I also really enjoy the New Zealand series a seeing Fanga Dans Commodore.
So two cars race, lead driver must be sideways the whole time and get close to the clip points (either front or rear bumper targets) the chase driver must stay as close as possible. No contact, copy the lead cars line and speed. Generally a pair of tyres to a race too so if you pop a tyre you lose. Getting tyres of track and in the dirt/grass in NZ is a automatic lost too. Average car is 1000hp on 275 wide tyres. Very fast now days too. In Japan there a grass roots sence, which is slower cars, street rego’d that side in the hills and on track days. Very cool sence too

So it looks like cars leaving tyre rubber on the track and lots of tyre smoke.
