Next Production Model

Post by bodgybro »

I need your help....
If anyone is a member of other model forums or model outlets of any media format,
What is the most wanted model body?
I want to fill a niche and I'm out of touch with what is a sort after body.
Any help would be appreciated.
I may set up a website to buy printed body and parts directly from me... less the shapeways markup and better quality print.
Any opinions on if that would be a good thing, fill a need?

Hmm, interesting. I know Aussie guys who would probably jump at the chance to try out some of the recent stuff you've done. Honestly I've not taken much notice of what's popping off.

You could probably break the Aussie internet with a scale Kingswood Panelvan

I would think any Australian cars would be popular printed body’s, dash boards and lights. I’m sure people could scratch build or make up the rest.

The JDM stuff seems popular but there’s already a few guys doing that scene. Hobby Design, C1 models and Fugu garage are all over it. Maybe check them out for ideas.

I have a few Aussie bodies done already. Not sure what would be wanted more than others tho.
I still have a few more commodores and falcons to do.

I do have a sandman in the works, along with a 1 tonner HQ

Yeah I’m not sure there. Anything BT1 or SS sells like hot cakes in 1:1 but don’t know who builds models other then the guys on this forum.

I personally would like a VP Calais International. So that’s a VP SS with Calais rear guard spats and a VQ boot lip. I guess vac form windows would suit lots of models to VB-VH, VN-VP, VR-VS, VT-VZ and VE-VF as the cabins are the same design.

Yep Sandman, that's the word I was looking for

You know I'm a skank for a longroof anything!

I've definitely been dreaming up builds for the current models you've done, but I think 'No, no, finish what's on your plate first!'

I reckon a hard body for this would do ok. 1/10 scale though. And do other years of Impala's, hydro pumps etc seppo's will love it.

Have tried to find an RS2000 for forever, someone in the UK used to do them but they sold out and nothing for years now.
Given there seems to be a little revival on the escorts, Belkits and Italeri have re-released both Mark 1 & 2 kits between them, but no RS2000.
Yes I am biased a little.
Don't think anyone has done a statesman yet either.
