Found another colour close to the Indian Red as I can not buy Italeri Marrone Mimetico 1 from Frontline Hobbies as they stop stocking it and if I buy in from someone else on line the postage is a killer.
So just had a look up at Casey's Hobby and found two colours that are close one is a surface primer German Red Brown and Model Color Hull Red which is Marron Rojizo in there Panzer series range of colour.
Will be buying some of there Airbrush thinners tomorrow, only ever used the paint with a paint brush before.

I don’t have a choice with paints it’s either a 5 1/2 hour return trip or pay $15 post and wait.

I know it’s an Australian train but have you looked into the Ammo by Mig range before??

Have not seen the Ammo range of paints.
The Italeri paint sells for $4.99/$5.99 and most what $9-10 postage.

Both of these 80 class diesels are painted in Indian Red the one on the left is the first shade of Indian red the one right is the later shade.
Why the different shades of Indian Red they used the same colour formula mix but Dulux supplied the first one and Taubmans supplied the second batch of colour even the chrome yellow is different too.

As you can see the left diesel is more reddish and the other one is more brown.

They booth look good to me. It’s a pretty common thing for paints and stuff to change like that in real life. A classic example is 90s Commodore’s. Because they didn’t know how many they would sell the engine parts were ordered in small batches which resulted in different brands being used. So when people said their VN was a ‘freak’ cos it was a touch quicker then the others, it probably had a slightly different cam from a different manufacturer. The VE timing chains are another example.

Ya I like both shades of Indian Red.
Oh the reason why the more yellow on the front of the Diesel was for safety so people could see them at level crossing on early morning light and late afternoon light also for so the fettlers working on the tracks would see them better.

At first I wondered why one had red stripes and the other yellow but then I noticed the extra safety yellow on the front.

Got a new NSWGR 44 class Diesel.
Ivan from Hunter Model Rail at Kurri Kurri its a old second hand Lima 44, have a set of flush windows for it and will add Kadee's to it.

Been working on fitting the flush glaze windows into the 44 not easy to do with tiny parts and fingers not working to good with the cold.
