Been working on a different kind of model building of late, This one is a Airfix Mitsubishi A6M2b Zero in 1/72 scale its there starter gift set, There is a 50 cent bit to show you the size of it. Got a few other WW2 planes to build up. Hope that this will keep my interest in building models.
I have taken down the old PB photo and will putting up new photo also will be starting to build up a few WWII planes and will be putting them in one WIP and once done will put them in one page done.
Now to find were I put the ZERO and finish it. yes!

Re: Mitsubishi Zero
It'll be interesting to see how it comes together, having never done a plane

Re: Mitsubishi Zero
Slowlylearning this is the first plane that I have built since 1976 and the last one was a Zero too from 1974 to 76 I built close to 200 planes with 50 battleships too, Hope to get some colour on it in the next few days.
Re: Mitsubishi Zero
God that's tiny
, hence the reason I went for 1/24 plane

Re: Mitsubishi Zero
Ya Ray it is tiny at that, got a bit of flat colour on it today, Have to put gloss clear on it so I can put the decals on it the put flat clear coat on it.
Re: Mitsubishi Zero
They maybe small Ray but they are cheaper then the 1/24 scale ones and take up less room.
also can buy lot more too.
Been trying to find the colour for this one, The little tub of paint that came with it had gone hard which is a Gray-Green colour I found a Gray-Green XF 76 (IJN) in the Tamiya colour range but its to dark it should be a lot paler, So after a lot of looking on the web and you tube, found that a lot of people are having the same trouble with the colour too, One modeller said to use the Tamiya Gray-Green and add a bit of white to it, I have now done that and gotten a lot lighter shade will airbrush it on to see if its an better. Picked up a Tomahawk the other week.

Re: Mitsubishi Zero
ALDI has a few airfix plane kits at the moment. $7.99 i think
