CHEVY VAN's

Post by B61 MACK »

I was looking for some thing to build up when it warms up, I came across these three Chevy Van's.
My question for you all should I build them up as company vans or show vans.

The two on the left are long wheel base ones the one on the right is a short wheel base one.

They look cool!! Are they all resins or kits?

Are you thinking of a Van CB?

No they are not resin all Plastic, The one on the right is a Revell kit the Chevy Van & race trailer (7250) I got just the van from Bruce.
The middle one is the AMT Rescue Van kit I got it with out the Rescue parts so its just a Van kit.
The one on the left is a AMT Race Team Van and Trailer kit and just got the van.
Did not think about a Van CB, open to it if others are.
Both AMT are in the hard plastic.

Being plastics kits make them a lot easier to build. I can definitely see a Lead City Custom or a 80s vibing Slowys Models ship Vans

The one on the left has a bubble port window that could be build as a show van, They are all '75 Chevy Vans too.
Build a Ford as a Coors Beer Van, There is a Dodge Van that I been looking for.

Well after thinking on it I am going to make a start on the short wheel base van, The one on the right hand side of the above photos.
I built one years ago and found that it sat real high in the rear end and it looked odd, It was fixed by sitting the rear axle on top of the rear springs instead of under will do the same this time around too.
Still thinking on colours.

Been thinking on ideas for the Van's and last week I picked up Cruzin Magazine Feb 2021 and there is a Story in it on California So-Cal Slow Ride run it has lots of the big Van's in it most Van's are one colour some have more and strips in them.
Look's the big Van's are making a come back in the USA.
