'71 Dodge Charger R/T

Post by B61 MACK »

This is one of the kits that I picked up from Aldi warehouse.
It's a AMT 1971 Dodge Charger R/T in 1/25.
I have been cleaning up the edges when the mold line sits up also filled the two holes in the boot lid were the rear wing sat not going to use it, Also will be removing the badges as the first coat of paint goes on you wont see them and there is decals for them.
Still thinking on colour might look at Pearl Powders I have thinking

I looking forward to seeing this one all cleaned up and mocked up before paint. Do something unique and very Allan with the paint, no muscle car bright yellow or orange. Go pascal with pearl thumbsup

Here is the body I have a lot of nice pearl colours thank's to Luke, There is a red that would look nice over a white base or wicked over a black base yes! , there is blue's, gold's and purples, Bugger that's making me really thinking
Most of the pearls look better over a white or black base.

Decent kit that one, nice detailed chassis. Got one in my stash to build one day.

Chop out the b pillar, open it up like a hard top.

Look's like the 71 charger came as a Rallye coupe or Hardtop and some had concealed head lights, Also some had front and rear spoilers.
Some hard chrome front and rear bumpers and other were painted body colours.
May go no chrome on bumpers and Hardtop. thinking

There is no way it's going to have a vinyl top only time you have a vinyl top is if it's a convertible yes!

Throw the purist book out the window and have fun doing your own thing. stirrer

The plan I have for mine is, change the side window shape, vinyl top and with wire wheels. Kinda old school Lowrider style. One day il get to it.
