Here's my crappy mock up....
Looking at the proposed rim & tyre combo.... thinking

Now, if I use the stepped sleeves and fabricate some sort of rim to suit thinking yes!

I reckon go with the Pegasus sleeves and find or mod some rims to fit ;) also the red looks good against the grey and black.

 oh yeah, it's a blown donk which is well detailed, might have to add wires and hoses to bring it to life yes!

I read somewhere before that 'buttons' have been used inside these sleeves, just a matter of finding something that looks like a wheel....not a button popcorn
Off to 'Spotlight' ;)

Spare parts top fuel engine ??

Buttons aye, clever idea who ever thought of that.
Good luck with the search, hopefully you will find some that will be perfect for rim centre's crossed

Grab some 2mm styrene and cut some circles out that are sorta the right size for the sleeves, but not too small to fit in. Drill a hole throught the middle and mount a circle on a sanding-disk holder bit for your dremel, then you can 'turn' out a blank 'smoothie' that fits perfik, then it's just a matter of plugging up the center hole, adding lugs and cutting in some spokes.

Looking good so far, I agree about the scoop, perfect attitude-adder
