1974 Ford Maverick Grabber
Re: 1974 Ford Maverick
I picked up some Alum' tubing for the rear axle, I will finish doing the front of the chassis and paint it, Then when I put the rear axle and wheels in place I will use hot glue gun to glue the axle in place.
Re: 1974 Ford Maverick
Painted the seats and door panels in Tamiya XF-59 Desert yellow also looked at my stash of Tamiya paint and found a bottle of Tamiya Metallic Brown X-34 so will be using that for body colour.

Re: 1974 Ford Maverick Grabber
I found out more information about the Ford Maverick Grabber from U-tube.
The Maverick was built to replace the Falcon and it was cheaper then the Mustang.
The 70 Maverick was a plan car and to Boost sale they put strips package on it and called it Grabber, The 71 had two Bonnet scopes but it was the only year, By 75 the Maverick was out selling the Mustang as it was a cheaper car so Ford change the price to 400 under the Mustang Price and Ford said pay 400 more and you can buy a Mustang.
76 was the last year of the Maverick as it was still selling better then The Mustang.
Ford built it to replace the Falcon and it almost killed the Mustang so Ford pulled the plug on the Maverick.
The Maverick is almost forgot car.

Re: 1974 Ford Maverick Grabber
As Sunday is a very warm day said the Weatherman I am planning on putting as splash of colour on this one, As the body is metal I will have to sit it outside first to warm up the metal before any primer goes on and top colour crossed I get the primer on tomorrow morning.

It’s nice weather here as well. Suns out this weekend but the wind will pick up. crossed we all make the most of the nice days
Re: 1974 Ford Maverick Grabber
Sat the body in the sun for a hour to warm up put a bit of grey on it for primer another hour later I put the Tamiya Metallic Brown X-34 used the Tamiya Thinner X-20A it made the paint flow a lot better. yes! Just need to clear coat it, west wind picked up now so will have to wait. There were some metal pimples in the body surface which had to be sand down a bit did not go to far as could of end up in trouble with the metal.
