If it was Gunpla I would but if I’m going to paint Warhammer I need to try and paint like they do. There’s a cool app called “Citadel Colour” that has step by step guides with suggested colours. Atm I’m sticking to the paint I got in the set. The for next 2 I’ll try something different

3 parts finished!!! 3 and a base to go

Super happy with this leg

I done all the grey edge highlights so the weapon and belt as well as the gold chest piece is done. Just more blue edges to do. It’s already hot enough in my work area that the paint is drying on the brush.

Pretty good for a first effort, must be challenging learning how to control the brush to achieve different effects.

Re: Warhammer 40K Space Marines started pack
Thanks guys! Mostly using the edge or top of the brush for highlights. Still sticking with only using what comes in the kit. The grey is white and black mixed 50/50 and the light blue is the white and blue mixed 50/50. Simple enough but definitely will use different brushes for different job next time.
I’ve finish all the edge highlights

I really want to paint the eyes. Maybe after it’s complete I’ll come back to them.

Re: Warhammer 40K Space Marines started pack
Base time. The Technical paint that comes with this kit is grey and has sand or something in it. So I set up my figure on the base and with a putty tool moved the technical paint around. I remove the figure and touched up any areas which needed it. Once dry I used a make up brush to dry brush the white on. Finally I re-paint the edge black.

So once everything is dry I can put this one together and call it finish

Base looks good, the textured paint and dry brushing worked well.
Re: Warhammer 40K Space Marines started pack
Looking good, might have to get some of the base time paint.
