Colin Bau - Split Livery VE V8 ute

Post by bodgybro »

Colin couldn't decide which of the liveries he wanted of the cars he's worked on over the years, so he asked could I do a split livery, right down the middle... I decided an angled cut would be better as meshing the 2 liveries down the centre would look terrible.. IMO
So I split the livery, sent a mock up and was approved to go ahead... this has been the most interesting livery I have done to date. It is a challenge but you all know, I can't avoid taking on a challenge.
This is all been done with paint so far, decals are about ready to go on, so over this weekend, it will progress some.

anyone wanna take a guess at the 2 liveries? numbers, sponsor, driver?

update pics
Not finished yet but I just couldn't wait to share this one... was my biggest and trickiest paint and decal job to date. I know I am biased but I think I pulled it off.
This has almost every type of decal I do on it. painted masked off areas, waterslide clear, waterslide white, ALPS on clear, ALPS with white backing, printed vinyl and polymeric vinyl. I even sprayed on white vinyl and cut, to match pieces to the paint I used on the body.. bet you can't tell what is painted vinyl!!
I will black the window sills out tonight, fit the windows and lenses, mount the interior/chassis and pretty much done... so will be ready by friday and the owner will be at the Bathurst 12hr, so I am considering a visit to the mountain for a hand delivery.... and maybe a little show off to try and score a GT build rofl
I've already been asked about doing some Audi R8 LMS by 1 of the mechanics who I have known for years and is a repeat customer (Mark Cravino), til I told him the Audi's he works on are already made in 1:18 die cast :)
anyway.....

Is it Kim Jane's Bob Jane T-Marts ute...

Or Craig Dontas's Thirsty Camel ute
